Shoes. When I find a pair I love, they make me very, very happy.
Last summer as I was healing from the lisfranc ligament injury, my ortho strictly forbade flipflops and strappy sandals. I freaked out for about 3 minutes before I realized, "Duh, this is an excuse to go shoe shopping at Little's."
It was then that I put on the absolute most comfortable pair of shoes I ever owned. It was a brand I'd never heard of or worn (Wolky) but I was IN LOVE. Alas, they didn't have the pair I wanted in black, so I settled for a funky greenish/grayish black patent instead. I have worn these shoes to death in the last year.
This weekend I was thinking about what shoes I needed to pack - I wanted something stylish but comfortable, and that could be worn with long pants or skirts, or capris and shorter skirts, all in gray or black or brown. Tall order for one or two pairs of shoes, no? I thought I'd just take the Wolkys I owned, but since they aren't exactly black, they look funny with gray pants, and don't look so hot with black tights or socks.
I popped into Little's when I was waiting for Miss O to finish ballet, and OMG, they had my favorite shoes in black this time.
Then they also had these, which just might have come home with me, too:
