This morning I took the girls back to the park ("Mom, let's go to the PARP!" yelped Olivia) after breakfast, where Olivia promptly got her squishy tomato stuck in the tree, then got her ball stuck trying to dislodge the tomato. (Don't ask.)
I'm pretty sure I gave all the old people at the park something to giggle about as I tried for 15 minutes to dislodge that damn ball using another ball and my shoe. At one point, I even contemplating climbing the stupid tree.
Finally a young couple took pity on me -- they grabbed a broom from a nearby building and he hoisted her up while she batted the ball out with the broom.
Thank you, nice broom people. You made my morning. Without your help, Olivia would have never charmed this nice man into playing ball with her for ages while her little sister sat there watching, Thundercloud Face in full-on mode.
We saw the local primary school kids file outside for their morning exercise - Beatrix Nan Yu was fascinated and made us plop down on the sidewalk to watch. Why they don't do this in the states I'll never understand...
We're off for Hong Kong in the morning, which means -- *shudder* -- packing today. We dropped off one final load of laundry and will be purchasing one giant suitcase to contain all of the extra stuff we seem to have acquired over the last two weeks. It's a good thing I purged my house before we left 'cause we're going to need all the extra space we can get.
